RACHIT KHANDELWAL
ABOUT
I’m Rachit Khandelwal, a student at The Glasgow School of Art, where I’m specializing in Painting and Printmaking. My artistic journey is deeply rooted in figurative work, with a strong focus on exploring the nuanced interplay between psychology and the subconscious mind. I’ve always been fascinated by the invisible forces that shape human thought and behaviour—those quiet, often unspoken emotions and mental states that exist beneath the surface of our everyday lives.
My practice revolves around building visual narratives that invite introspection. Through the figures I paint , I try to offer a mirror to the complexities of our inner worlds often inspired by personal narratives. I believe in the power of simplicity—letting the stillness in an image speak volumes. I’m drawn to understated compositions, where subtle gestures, limited colours, and open space can evoke feelings that words often fail to express.
Much of my inspiration comes from fragmented memories, and moments of emotional ambiguity and writings about the Subconscious. I aim to create works that linger in the mind—images that may not offer clear answers, but instead open up space for personal reflection. For me, art is a way of reaching out without speaking, of building quiet connections with others through shared emotional experiences.
Each piece I create is a small attempt to translate thought into form, to make the invisible visible, and to encourage a moment of stillness in an otherwise noisy world.
